Artwork text

In 1968, the year of worldwide student movements against poor conditions of study, political and social conditions, Polish students and intellectuals also protested for more freedom. As a result, the communist government banned gatherings of more than three people. In response, Krasiński and his friends organized the "Farewell to Spring" ball, inviting the most influential representatives of the Polish avant-garde and challenged the regime. The event took place in a carnivalesque setting and was a mixture of installation, happening and party.
