John Knight

John Knight was born in Hollywood, California, USA, in 1945 and graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 1973. Solo exhibitions, including site-specific works, have been held in 2019 at Ordet, Milan, Italy; CCA Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan; 2018 Établissement d'en face, Brussels; 2017 Cultuurcentrum, Strombeek, Belgium; 2016 REDCAT, Los Angeles, USA; 2015 Art Institute of Chicago, USA; 2013 Portikus, Frankfurt am Main, Germany; and 2008 Espai d'art contemporani de Castelló, Castellón, Spain, among others. His numerous participations in international group and major exhibitions include Documenta 5, 1972 and Documenta 7, 1982, Kassel, Germany; the Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, USA; 2017 Skulptur Projekte Münster, Germany; and 2020 Sculpturegarden, 2nd Geneva Biennale, Geneva, Switzerland. John Knight lives and works in Los Angeles, California, and in situ.
