Lotte Hendrich-Hassmann
Lotte Hendrich-Hassmann was born in 1932 in Graz, Austria. After graduating from the Textile Technical School in 1050 Vienna, she studied at the University (then College) of Applied Arts, Vienna from 1954 to 1975 in the master class for fashion and textile work with Prof. Wimmer-Wisgrill and Prof. Klimt-Klenau. From 1959 to 1961 she taught at various general secondary schools in Graz. In addition, she produced textile works. At the end of the 1960s she experimented with collages. From the mid-1970s on, her involvement with photography was added and, due to her friendship with Peter Weibel and VALIE EXPORT, with film and video. In 1976 she participated in the IFI project "Legendary Television." At the end of the 1970s she became active as an organizer for the association "Internationale Aktionsgemeinschaft bildender Künstlerinnen" (INTAKT). She participated in numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally. Lotte Hendrich-Hassmann lived and worked in Lower Austria and Vienna, where she died in 2007.
